An acrostic is a type of word puzzle, related somewhat to crossword puzzles, that uses an acrostic form. (Source: Wikipedia)

The objective of the puzzle is to successfully fill in the missing letters in the text while answering the clues. This text may be a statement, quote. or any other phrase.

This is a Double Acrostic puzzle that primarily contains two parts:

  1. A hidden quote, laid out in crossword puzzle format.
  2. A series of clues, with each letter in every clue's answer corresponding to a specific letter in the hidden quote. As each clue is answered, more and more letters are completed in the hidden quote, until eventually all clues are answered and the entire quote is revealed.

The block that is bordered in RED COLOR, containing the initial letters of the answers, will turn out to be the name of a person and the quotation being associated with that person.

How To Play

  • Download the OpenOffice file.
  • Open it with StarOffice or OpenOffice.
  • Enter the answer to the clue in the block just before the CLUES column using the keyboard. Each letter of the answer entered automatically fills the mystery text (in the QUOTATION block), wherever applicable.
  • The Left/Right arrow keys will move the focus to the previous/next letter of the answer.
  • To clear a letter, press the Delete key.
  • In order to answer the questions, it helps to browse through the HA Clusters community pages ;-)
  • After all the clues are answered, you will find that the quote and the name of the person is revealed.
Hint: You can guess the likely words or letters from the name of the person that is revealed in the RED bordered block.

Note: This is not a "two-way" process puzzle. You can NOT enter in the quotation to reveal the answers to the clues. You can ONLY answer the clues to reveal the quote.
