How can I take part in software translation community for OpenSolaris ?

How do I start software translation in a new language for OpenSolaris ?

Check out the existing language groups, if there is no team for your language and you would like to create a new group, proceed as follows:
  • create an account at opensolaris.org pages
  • send an email introducing yourself to the group mailing list or the main community mailing list, i18n-discuss
  • wait for approval of new language
  • add your language to the table of localization teams
  • start with software translation

How to avoid common mistakes during translations?

There are several types of resource files and each type follows specific format. When using CTI tool translation become much easier because the tool tries to decompose translatable content from formatting, however sometimes you can still see some 'strange' elements that have not be translated. The following is a list of common issues that sometimes appear during translation. Please note that those common mistakes slow down integration process, because before integration we have to fix those issues - and it takes time and effort.
