Subject: Heads-Up: New SCSI HBA driver for LSI MegaRAID SAS Controller
If you do not install the LSI mega_sas driver via an ITU or pkgadd
from the LSI web page, you can probably delete this message.
We have putback the following driver into Solaris Nevada ON gate in
build 88: PSARC 2008/051: Integrate LSI MegaRAID SAS controllers (eg.
1078) driver (mega_sas) into Solaris
6651366 Solaris needs native LSI mega_sas driver
6686666 mega_sas driver: Memory leak found after run MegaCli tool
The mega_sas driver supports the LSI SAS1078 SAS RAID Storage Adapters
and Dell PERC 5/E, 5/i, 6/E, and 6/i, and CERC 6/i RAID Controllers,
with RAID levels 0, 1, 5, and 6, and RAID spans 10, 50, and 60. The
driver supports supports up to 240 SAS or 3Gb/s SATA drives, or a
combination of both. Note that SAS and SATA drives cannot be combined
together in a virtual drive. Also, if you want to install to a drive
attached to a mega_sas HBA, you should create the virtual drive first
from the BIOS before running Solaris install.
The MegaCli tool, documentation, and other information can be found on
the LSI download web page at:

We are still working with LSI to finish up the man page.
