The Dallas/Ft. Worth OpenSolaris User Group (DFWOSUG) has been established to connect people in the Dallas, Ft. Worth, and Denton areas of who have an interested in Solaris, OpenSolaris and Open Source projects. All are welcome - developers, open-source contributors, system administrator, architects, and any other interested parties.

Meetings

DFWOSUG holds its meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month. Meetings are held at the Sun Microsystems Dallas, 16000 North Dallas Parkway, Suite 700, Dallas, Tx. Meetings run from 7:00 to 9:00PM, with light refreshments beginning at 6:00PM.

Another worthy contender is VirtualBox, which has been called "the best virtualization program you've never heard of." At the least it's one of the easiest to use. Host system requirements Guest system requirements How to use VirtualBox Comparison to other virtualization technologies How to get the software About Speaker: Bob Netherton is a Principal Engineer in the Sun Microsystems Solaris Adoption Practice, specializing in virtualization, open source and Linux interoperability. He is one of the the architects and content developers of the successful Solaris Boot Camp and Deep Dive seminar series. In addition he has developed several best practice guides for Solaris as well as an advanced Solaris training curriculum. Bob is also involved in several Open Solaris User's Groups in the Midwest and Southwest United States. Prior to joining Sun in 1992, Bob has managed various open and proprietary systems and developed realtime software. Bob is a regular blogger on Solaris, virtualization, and open source technologies.
