Anyone who is a participant in the OpenSolaris.org community may download and use Sun Studio 10 software to design, develop, test, or otherwise engineer software. You will be required to register at the Sun Download Center if you have not already registered for a previous product download. Q. I registered and downloaded the Sun Studio 10 software, but I didn't receive my Welcome Letter and License key. What happened? A. Most likely, there is an error in your email address. Please review your registration information at the Sun Download Center. Select "Update Registration" and ensure that the email address is correct. After you change your email, it may take up to 24-hrs for the changes to take effect. Once the changes have taken effect, return to the download page and click on any of the download links. You do not have to wait for the download; a welcome letter will be generated simply by clicking on the download link. If you downloaded Sun Studio 11, you will not receive a license key in your welcome letter, as a license key is not required. Q. Is the install image the complete Sun Studio 10 software product? A. No, the install image download is intended to be used to build OpenSolaris and does not contain the following:

Yes, the product package download is the fully-featured and fully-functional Sun Studio 10 software. Q. Are the other Forte and Sun Studio software products available at OpenSolaris.org, besides Sun Studio 10 and Sun Studio 11? A. No, the Forte Developer products and prior versions of Sun Studio software are only available through the Sun Studio website and there is still a license fee for those products. Q. What type of support is available to help me get started? A. The OpenSolaris Community can assist with questions about Sun Studio software within the Discussions area. The J2SE(tm) Platform file includes the J2SE 1.4.2_06 technology needed to run the graphical Integrated Development Environment (IDE), including the graphical debugger and application Performance Analyzer.
