OpenSolaris Project: Cryptographic FrameworkView the leaders for this projectProject Observers Endorsing communitiesOS/Net (ON)Security The Cryptographic Framework provides cryptographic services to users and applications through commands, a user-level programming interface, a kernel programming interface, and user-level and kernel-level frameworks. These cryptographic services are provided to applications and kernel modules in a manner seamless to the end user, and brings direct cryptographic services, like encryption and decryption for files, to the end user. This project covers extending the framework and developing drivers and other plugin services for it. Known Consumers in OpenSolarisIntegrated in ON: IPsec, Kerberos, SASL, KMF, GLDv3 WiFi drivers. In progress: Lofi Crypto, ZFS Crypto. Other PKCS#11 Consumers in Solaris: Java JCE, Mozilla NSS, OpenSSL ENGINE, SNMP.
