OpenSolaris Project: Research Triangle Park OpenSolaris User GroupView the leaders for this projectProject Observers Endorsing communitiesAdvocacyOur Charter:The Research Triangle Park OpenSolaris User's Group (RTP-OSUG) charter is to drive OpenSolaris awareness and adoption within the Research Triangle Park area, targeting both the academic and the professional communities. There are a large number of Solaris installations in the area along with active open source advocacy groups including Linux User's Groups and a Perl Mongers group. Our goal is to create more awareness of OpenSolaris within these communities and within the RTP area.

Our primary focus will be to present and demonstrate OpenSolaris technology to the community. We will engage the business and academic communities to schedule interesting and informative technology presentations.
Meeting Place and Times:The July 7th meeting will be held at the Cary Sun Office in Cary, NC
Next Meeting: We are shifting things around a bit for July 4th.
July 7th, 2009 - OpenSolaris Installfest & Solaris Container presentation. Scott Dickson of the Atlanta OpenSolaris UG will be in town to present on Solaris Containers in Solaris 10 and OpenSolaris. We will also have official OpenSolaris 2008.11, 2009.06 media and Student Kits available.
Bring your laptop and get help installing OpenSolaris on your system or a VM. And, learn about Solaris Containers as well. Links:
Future Meetings:August 7th, 2009 - We're looking for ideas. If you have an idea for the April meeting or any subsequent meeting please let us know. If you would like to give a presentation let us know that too. Additional details coming soon. Stay tuned... We have a few ideas for future presentations and will get them scheduled and posted here soon.
